Built for the 100 million shops the tech industry forgot
Kaspa started with one observation: every POS system in the world is built for a coffee shop in San Francisco, not a corner grocery in Colombo. We decided to fix that.
Our mission
Every small shop owner on earth deserves the same digital tools that big retailers take for granted — inventory tracking, sales reports, fast checkout, and business intelligence. Not at $89/month. Free. Right now. On the phone they already own.
Starting in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has hundreds of thousands of small shops — groceries, pharmacies, hardware stores, textile shops. Most run on notebooks and calculators. We're changing that, one shop at a time, starting with the markets we know best.
Built for everywhere
The same problems exist in India, Philippines, Indonesia, Kenya, Ghana, and every other emerging market. Kaspa works in any currency, any language, on any device with a browser. The Sri Lanka launch is the proof of concept for a global platform.
AI as the great equalizer
A shop owner in Matara shouldn't need to learn software menus. They should just say "add rice for 1600" and have it work. The AI assistant is how we remove every barrier between the shop owner and their data.
Offline-first is non-negotiable
Unreliable internet isn't a bug in emerging markets — it's a feature of daily life. Kaspa is built offline-first from the ground up. Not "works offline with limited features." Fully offline. Every feature. Always.
What we believe
"Software should be free to use."
The shop owner making Rs. 50,000/month shouldn't pay Rs. 5,000/month for software. We charge for premium features, never for the core.
"The internet should be optional."
A sale should never fail because the internet is slow. Kaspa runs on-device by default and syncs when connectivity returns.
"Language should never be a barrier."
Software should speak to the shopkeeper in their language — not force them to think in English to run their business.
"Setup should take seconds, not days."
A shop owner who needs three days and a consultant to set up their POS will never go digital. We want 60 seconds, no consultant, no manual.
"Small shops deserve the same AI that big retailers get."
Inventory intelligence, demand forecasting, and proactive alerts shouldn't cost Rs. 50,000/month. They should be free.
